From the Office in the Back
It’s that special time of year, again… time for decorating the tree, for celebrations with family and friends… and time for baking over 250 dozen cookies. Well, why not? We did it last year!
That’s right – after last year’s success, the Great Cookie Blitz is back again. Here’s a quick refresher course: The Cookie Blitz is where you (the Church) provide hundreds of dozens of cookies to be given out to them (the Community) by you (the Church). Those involved last year remember the overwhelming joy of performing a very simple act of love for those in the community around us and we have the privilege of sharing again this year.
Here are the details: First, we need cookies…lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of cookies. You can bake them, buy them, steal them (ok, don’t steal cookies, please)… however you able to provide them. We need them dropped off at the church between Sunday, December 16th and Tuesday, December 18th. All cookies are needed no later than Tuesday evening.
Then, on Wednesday evening, December 19th, we will meet in the Worship Center at 6:30 PM, make the team assignments and head out into the community, going door-to-door, sharing the love of Christ with cookies in hand. It’s as simple as that, but we need as many people as possible to be involved.
Here’s where we need help: We need cookie bakers or buyers. It doesn’t matter if you bring a dozen or 30 dozen. Every dozen allows us to reach at least one house. Secondly, we need servants to help sort and prepare the bags on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. Please consider helping in this area and look for sign-up sheets in the coming weeks. Finally, we need as many as possible on Wednesday night. Last year we had an amazing turnout. We would love to be able to top that this year and reach more homes in our community. We need your help. Please consider how God can use you this season. You do not want to miss this incredible outreach opportunity
Joyfully,
Jeff
